Creator and Director of Blueprint Hoops is Chicago’s very own, Trey Blue. As a small toddler, Trey developed his love for the game. He daily practiced on his “court” better known as the basement floor in his home. Hard work and dedication landed him an All-State ranking as a junior at Thornwood High School where the TBirds received 4th Place in the IHSA AA State Finals. After High School, Trey spent a post-graduate year at Brewster Academy, a basketball prep powerhouse located in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

After Brewster, Trey began his collegiate career at Fordham University of the A10 Conference where he broke the Rookie scoring record in his first collegiate game. Tragic loss of life of someone close made Trey want to be closer to home and he accepted an athletic scholarship to Illinois State University where he graduated with his B.S. in Kinesiology and Recreation.  With a year of eligibility left after graduation, he finished his collegiate career in the Green Mountains of Vermont at the University of Vermont.

While accomplishing goals and following his dreams, Trey became a father to an amazing son, Carter Blue.  The birth of Carter pushed him to go harder and aim higher. Basketball has afforded Trey the opportunity for a college education and the opportunity of extensive US and overseas travel. Trey went on to play basketball overseas on 3 professional teams in 3 different countries.Trey’s love for the game and his understanding of how critical fundamental skill development is to a young basketball player's future is one of the reasons he moved forward with his goal to develop Blueprint Hoops.
